NY Art Book Fair Review
Guest Post by Martine Syms at Golden Age
We asked our friends over at Golden Age to do a little best of review of the NY Art Book Fair. Below is the result.
Last weekend at P.S.1 Printed Matter hosted its 4th annual fair showcasing the very best in contemporary art publishing. Over 200 international presses, galleries, and artists participated, including my personal faves, Nieves Books, Dexter Sinister, White Columns, and RAM. Although most of my time was spent behind the Golden Age table, I managed to scope the selection and I even bought a few things. For those of you who couldn’t make it out to NYC for the fair, I’ve compiled a list of “must-haves.”
1. Obviously if you live in Chicago, your first stop should be Golden Age (or our website during the winter…). Our latest release is Sixteen Google Street Views, a collection of images captured by the Google vehicle framed by net artist Jon Rafman.
2. Sister is a LA-based publishing project by the extremely talented designer Harsh Patel. I recommend Inside Susan, a story told through the lyrics of Britpoppers Pulp.

3. Portfolio Project #1 featuring work from John Armleder, Philippe Decrauzat, John Tremblay, and Mika Tajima from the NY-based curatorial office DISPATCH.

4. Home for Lost Ideas is a book edited by Catherine Griffiths and Dan Rees that house those brilliant ideas that never went anywhere. With contributions from Franz Ackermann, John Baldessari, Pierre Bismuth, Sophie Calle, Liam Gillick, and more. Published by Archive Books of Berlin.

5. This poster from Zurich’s Rollo Press will let your friends know that you don’t fuck around, only $15. Perfect for the holidaze.
