Better Know Your Food: Icons for PLENTY
July 17, 2012
As people become more aware of food allergies (most, like celiac disease, go undiagnosed) and continue to make choices based on personal beliefs, we wanted our grocery store, Plenty, to be ready to meet these needs. When we first started thinking about how to best communicate product information to our customers we immediatley thought of The Noun Project, and it has become the starting point for a system of simple icons to help customers quickly identify if a product meets their needs. Some of the icons that will be used and developed for the store will be: urban farm, local, regional, organic, gluten free, vegan, allergy free, and more.
Plenty is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to help get the doors open of their shop in Wicker Park / Ukrainian Village. Please donate and help spread the word. http://kck.st/M1wzpJ
Plenty a neighborhood tailored, locally focused grocery and deli. We cater to health conscious residents and those with underrepresented diets; and support regional farmers, urban food projects and small batch producers.
