The Post Family is an independent, Chicago-based collaborative founded in 2007 by seven individuals with a shared passion for craft, experimentation, collaboration and—above all else—community.
Hailing from a diverse variety of backgrounds—practicing as designers, illustrators, technologists, writers, teachers, entrepreneurs and artists—we’re united by the belief that great products come from collaborative minds.
We build environments that bring people together. Community is potential. Community is progress. Communities, not individuals, change the world.
Chad Kouri is a semi-nomadic working artist, forever investigating the development of creative communities and the commerce of art, both online and in cities around the world. His studio practice is fueled by equal interests in conceptual and minimalist art, ethnography, visual literacy, design, jazz, and the gray areas between these fields. He is best known for his past role as Art Director of the award-winning Chicago based contemporary art publication Proximity magazine and recognition as one of Chicago’s up-and-coming image makers in NewCity’s 2010 Breakout Artists of the year issue.

As the new Design Lead in the brand department at Uptake, Rod is helping to build a strong brand for an exciting new product.
By the age of five, Sam was most likely to be found behind his Mac trying to get all of the ideas out of his head and into the world. Born and raised in Chicago, he’s spent the better part of the past decade starting businesses centered around people and design. Formally trained as a designer, Sam spends more time on the business side of things these days.
Scott Thomas, a.k.a SimpleScott, is a designer, technologist, founder of the Noun Project and Simple.Honest.Work. Scott has collaborated on a wide array of projects for various brands, organizations, and agencies around the globe, including Obama for America, the White House, Fast Company, Apple, IBM, HP, Nike, Patagonia, Levis, the Alliance for Climate Protection, and Craigslist. His work has been featured in Wired, Print Magazine, The Atlantic, and The New York Times. In his free time, Scott strokes his beard and stares off into the distance, deep in thought about how to improve the world through design and technology.
