Some great pictures of Seth Neefus and Mark Warren Jacques' Free Life Project at Islands Fold. Wow... that's a lot of links.

Check out the Sun Boxes project. Pretty rad. Then again I am a sucker for sound installations in general. Solar powered... even better.
"Sun Boxes are an environment to enter and exit at will. It's comprised of twenty speakers operating independently, each powered by the sun via solar panels. There is a different loop set to play a guitar note in each box continuously. These guitar notes collectively make a Bb chord. Because the loops are different in length, once the piece begins they continually overlap and the piece slowly evolves over time."

Art Book Fair
Chad really got me with his love for zines and any independent publication. That's why I'm going to check out "Unter dem Motto 2010". You should go if you are around.
'The Unter dem Motto art book fair is going into its second round. The annual fair hosted by Motto Berlin and Chert Gallery will take place at their locations in Berlin Kreuzberg, from the 3rd to the 5th of September 2010. More than 70 publishers from about 17 countries will present their works and show an eclectic overview of contemporary art publishing, ranging from home-printed zines to publications by established institutions.' -

Nancy Rosen
I am beyond excited to present our next show which happens to be of my mother, whom is one of the most incredible artists I know.
Since Nancy Rosen was a little child she has found solace in the small things: sunflower seeds, rubber band balls, using the roll of toothpaste until there is not a single drop left. She sees beauty and comfort in repetition, patterns in most any variety.
It's the little things that guide her painting. The way a subject smiles. The way the light hits their arm. That tiny background detail that suddenly seems dreadfully important to the finished work. Nancy's artistic process is one of open arms.
She paints without vacation or hiatus, filling the walls of her Chicago studio with works-in-progress, none removed until they're finished. Patterns beget new patterns; images layer on top of one another as she aims to capture little human encounters, ranging from a soft embrace to the hidden, reassuring brush of an index finger at the edge of the picture plane.
She's truly an artist in every essence of the word. More Is More, in the Family Room, represents a diverse and expansive taste of her endless collection—a wide variety of little things.
I hope that you will join us Friday, October 8 from 6 to 12pm. There will be a ton of people. Beer, food, coffee, great music and so much more. Hope to see you there, we'll certainly keep you posted on details as they surface.
